Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city north unit has today staged a massive protest on the streets in the capital, demanding commodity prices be brought under control and the values of Ramadan be preserved and protected.

It is the month of Ramadan in which the Holy Quran has been revealed. The Battle of Badre has been occurred in this month. Mecca, the holy city, has been conquered in this month, Selim Uddin adds.
This Jamaat leader calls on everyone to observe fasting for the satisfaction of Allah, and for attaining Taqwa (fear to Allah) in this holy month.
Mohammad Selim Uddin today afternoon makes the remarks while speaking at a pre-procession rally at Mirpur-1 intersection in the capital. Jamaat Dhaka city north unit holds the procession as part of central programme, protesting spiraling commodity prices, and preserving the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan. Jamaat central working committee member and Dhaka city north unit’s secretary Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim conducted the rally.
People of the country are free to practice their religions. But those who are Muslim have to follow the rules of Quran and Sunnah, Selim Uddin further adds.
Later, he recites a verse from the Quran where Allah said, “O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.”
Alleging the hypocrite politicians of the country, Selim Uddin said, they pretend like Muslims before national election and divert the Muslims but these politicians do not govern the state according to Islam. The voters will not cast their votes these hypocrites in the upcoming election.
He urges all to be united under the banner of Jamaat to build an Islamic welfare state.
If people cast their votes to Jamaat, they will build a discrimination-free country. Therefore, we have taken many initiatives to build the country a humane state. We are working for poverty alleviation. Selim Uddin claimed.
He seeks the overall cooperation of all people irrespective of religion, caste, class and profession to build a country free from hunger and poverty.
City Ameer demands to the authorities to close hotels and restaurants during day time in the month of Ramadan.
Obscene cinemas must be stopped. Law and order situation must be improved, he further demands.
Jamaat central Mojlish-e-Shura member Hemayet Hossain, Maulana Mohibullah, Jamaat Dhaka city north unit’s media & publicity secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, Nasir Uddin, Shahidullah, Hedeyetullah, Sha Alam Tuhin, professor Anuwarul Haque including hundreds of thousands of Jamaat-Shibir men including common people joined the procession.
